Laptop Repair

Laptops are more prone to getting faults than desktop Apple Macs or PCs. They get dropped, the kids get their hands on them(!), spillages occur, the power socket starts to wobble around. If air isn't getting to the hottest components - to the heatsinks on the CPU or graphics chip, the laptop will overheat. This may lead to component failure.

Speed

Speed is often an issue with laptops because they are designed to be used while on the move and this usually means that they will never perform as fast as a desktop computer. but things can be done to optimise them. All sorts of software problems can lead to a laptop running painfully slow. We can fix this. Over time, operating sytems become damaged and cluttered. Programs are installed and forgotten about. Many programs load up as soon as you turn on, and they are hogging valuable memory and CPU resources.

Operating system reinstall

In some cases operating systems can get so badly damaged, after years of not being maintained, that they need a complete repair. What this usually means is that you need to have a reinstall of the operating system. Your personal data is not affected in the process, so you effectively get a revived laptop with all your data in tact. Our price: £75 plus VAT!

This would really improve startup times, and general data reading and writing during use. It's also less prone to failure than a conventional hard drive. More memory makes good sense, allowing you to be doing more multi-tasking.

Keyboard replacement

Nothing more annoying than finding a key has stopped working or keeps sticking. Keys can come off very easily and need replacing. Often what you need is a complete keyboard replacement. Call for a price today!

Cracked or dead screen

If your laptop's had an unfortunate fall, or even a kick, you may have ended up with a cracked or dead screen. We can order in a replacement and get your revived laptop back in working order in 24-48 hours. Most screens cost between £38 to £65 to replace, plus labour.

Broken power socket

A very common problem with laptops due to the amount of use they get. Forces acting on the power socket when the power plug is left in it during travel or just during everyday use, can eventually break the socket or the solder joints on your laptop's motherboard. Sockets are usually quite inexpensive - £5 to £20. Labour is usually £45 plus VAT.
