Computer Security Experts in SW London

With over 20 years experience in the industry, we consider security to be of critical importance. Security encompasses many issues, such as data backups in case of fire or theft; firewalls to limit access to or from your computers; proper use of antivirus and anti-malware software; privacy, and protection from data theft; and of course there's the ever present risk of bank details, usernames and passwords being harvested.

What to look out for

It's amazing how resourceful and knowledgeable a criminal can be when he's gone out and got some in the field experience! Once armed with his tools, and maybe a bit of a 'gift of the gab' he can do untold damage and make easy money. Watch out for that man, wherever he is. Here's a really common one. A man calls up on the phone. He says he works for Microsoft and that they've noticed that the recipient of the call's computer has a dreadful vunerability that needs fixing. And then the victim of this call gives the "Microsoft" man access to his computer by initiating a remote desktop connection. Windows pop up and various problems are discovered. then the man asks for money to fix all these problems. Sometimes he gets it! How does he do it? He makes his victim believe that he's trustworthy and there to help. His voice is calm and reassuring. He works for a trusted company. And here is the number 1 reason why criminals manage to get to their victim - they use reputable companies as a cloak, and also as a means to establish highly confidential information. Another really common one is the "phishing" email. It's on the same lines as above. The email is made to look like it comes from your bank, your social networking site, and it's got code concealed within it to take you to a fake website and get you to disclose your username and password.

Give us an hour and get some peace of mind

We'll conduct a thorough examination of your IT from top to bottom. We'll identify any weak points in your computer security. Starting with your router and working along your entire network. We can advise on the most cost effective improvements you can make to toughen up your security and to make your data safe. A good backup plan is always a piece of advice we give, and we prefer remote (cloud) based back solutions. We offer secure daily backups to our own servers, with recovery of complete systems being possible by hand rather than by a slow Internet connection!

We'll show you how to avoid some of the pitfalls and be one step ahead of spoof emails, fake phone calls from people trying to connect up to your computer, and untrustworthy websites.
